Quick tasks that make your life easier the following week
Sundays for me have long since been my ‘get organised’ day. The day when I do my house chores, get the washing done, but also get ready for the week ahead.
If I do the following 5 things on a Sunday it sets the groundwork for the week ahead and means I don’t have to worry about the small things. The So here’s my Sunday routine:
1. Do the weekly shop
My day starts at 10:00am when I head to the Supermarket and do the weekly shop. I recommend having a shopping list with you with a plan of the meals that you’re going to cook during the week ahead.
Until you’ve tried this you have no idea how great it is. Imagine: coming home from work and knowing in advance what you’re going to cook AND have all the ingredients in. I know! Mind blown! Doing this one task will save you a massive headache during the week. Try it!
2. Plan your weekly wardrobe
Make sure that everything is ironed and ready to wear for the week ahead. I usually take the items out of the wardrobe and hand them on the back of the door. This is a huge time saver in the morning. If you’re going to the gym or to yoga class during the week, have your work out gear ready too.
3. Make a to-do list
It really helps if you take 20 minutes to make a list of all your tasks for the coming week. I’ve found that doing this stops me from worrying that I might have forgotten something. Writing everything down means I know exactly what needs to be done so I can forget about work for the rest of the day.
4. Do one thing that will move you forward with your goals
This could be de-cluttering your wardrobe (see my other blog post), or cleaning out your make-up drawer or applying for a job, whatever it is, getting this done today will really make you feel as though you’ve really achieved something. What a great way to end the week!
5. Do something nice
Watch a movie, take a walk in the park, meet a friend for lunch… Taking time out from work is so important.
What ever you chose to do, make sure that you take time out to relax, have fun and enjoy yourself.
So that’s how I spend my Sunday. Let me know how you spend yours and if you have a Sunday routine.
Have a great day!
